Queen’s College, Taunton, a leading independent school with a thriving boarding community, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Houseparent to join our girls Senior Boarding House team (years 8-13). This is a residential role; the successful candidate will live and work at the heart of our vibrant school community.  This position is open to non-teaching and teaching applicants.  For non-teaching we expect staff to offer a pupil-facing role within the wider school community.

The Houseparent plays a pivotal role in the welfare, development, and day-to-day life of our boarders. You will create a safe, supportive, and welcoming home-from-home environment where pupils feel valued, respected, and encouraged to flourish.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young people in a pastoral, educational, or residential setting.
  • Demonstrate warmth, empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
  • Be highly organised, with the ability to manage the demands of a busy boarding house.
  • Show commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.

Are you passionate about developing young athletes, inspiring confidence, and promoting a culture of physical excellence? Queen’s College, Taunton, a leading Independent School with a proud tradition of sporting success, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our Sports Department.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the athletic development of pupils across the school – from those taking their first steps in fitness to high-performing athletes competing at regional and national level. You will design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate training programmes, support injury prevention and rehabilitation, and work closely with our team of coaches and teaching staff to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with UKSCA accreditation (or working towards an equivalent qualification) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about inspiring and supporting young people through strength and conditioning. While the UKSCA is essential, we would love to hear from candidates who also bring a background in Sports Science or a related discipline, along with experience of working with young people in this field. If you are a strong communicator, committed to pupil wellbeing, and eager to motivate pupils of all abilities, we would be delighted to hear from you.
