Queen’s College, Taunton, a leading Independent School with a proud tradition of sporting success, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our Sports Department.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the athletic development of pupils across the school – from those taking their first steps in fitness to high-performing athletes competing at regional and national level. You will design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate training programmes, support injury prevention and rehabilitation, and work closely with our team of coaches and teaching staff to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with UKSCA accreditation (or working towards an equivalent qualification) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about inspiring and supporting young people through strength and conditioning. While the UKSCA is essential, we would love to hear from candidates who also bring a background in Sports Science or a related discipline, along with experience of working with young people in this field. If you are a strong communicator, committed to pupil wellbeing, and eager to motivate pupils of all abilities, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Sports Medic/Sports First Aider

Part Time – Saturdays (Term Time Only)

Permanent or temporary

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Sports Medic or Sports First Aider to provide pitch-side support at our Saturday sporting fixtures.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds (or has held) a recognised First Aid qualification or is interested in working in pitchside sports therapy.  Enhanced training can be provided for the right candidate. 
  • Can respond calmly and professionally in the event of injury or illness. 
  • Understands and applies concussion protocols, ensuring safe removal from play when required. 
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with pupils, staff, parents, and officials. 
  • Is reliable, punctual, and enjoys being part of a friendly school community.

Experience as a sports medic and in working with young people would be an advantage, though not essential.

The role involves approximately 4 hours each Saturday during term time, with timings varying depending on fixtures.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support our pupils and play a valued role in the sporting life of the College.

Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Salary £12.60 an hour

We are looking to replace a Porter/Caretaker who is retiring after 23 happy years at Queen’s.

This is a year-round, full time post including some weekend and evening work on a shift arrangement.

This role engages and supports staff across all areas of the College site to help deliver the best activities and events for students and the wider Queen’s community alike.  A willingness to be helpful and go the extra mile to get things done is a must!

Queen’s College is a friendly, family-orientated environment to work in with amazing facilities and staff who all contribute to the development of our young people.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to:

  • work independently whilst using initiative
  • prioritise their workload on a daily basis to ensure all tasks are completed on time
  • communicate effectively verbally and by sending and receiving emails
  • carry and lift furniture and equipment in preparation for events, room changes or refurbishment
  • undertake basic maintenance tasks
  • distribute internal mail and parcels plus temporary event signage 
  • collect and deliver materials from suppliers off site for other team members
  • assist with the unloading of large deliveries
  • assist colleagues in heavy cleaning duties such as floor scrubbing/polishing and pulling out furniture
  • deal with accidental spillages
  • carry out security checks on the late shift to ensure the perimeter and all buildings are secure

This role requires a valid UK Driving Licence.

There is a two-week shift arrangement in place during term time providing site coverage from 7am-10pm.

During holiday periods, this role often reverts to a more traditional Monday- Friday, 8am-4.30pm work pattern which will be discussed in advance to ensure we are meeting the needs of the College.
