Queen’s College is seeking a hard working and dedicated Specialist Learning Mentor (Cognition and Learning) , passionate about supporting children with SEN, to become an integral part of the Learning Support team. 

This rewarding role will see you play an important part in shaping the inclusive educational journey of the children and young people at Queen’s, creating a warm and stimulating environment where they can flourish. 

Working as part of a specialist team, the successful candidate will provide personalised support for individuals and small groups of learners with SEN across the college. With support from the SENCo they will develop and deliver high quality learning opportunities that empower independence and develop sustainable skills. 

Experience in providing maths/numeracy interventions would be an advantage.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced teacher of the LAMDA specification who will deliver and develop voice and acting training at Queen’s.  This is a strong area of interest amongst our students; the ideal candidate will have the ability to teach Speech and Drama both technically and artistically, in a way that encourages wider participation across the full age range of the school.

We are looking to replace a Porter/Caretaker who is retiring after 23 happy years at Queen’s.

This is a year-round, full time post including some weekend and evening work on a shift arrangement.

There is a competitive salary and generous benefits package which includes free parking and a hot lunch during term-time.

This role engages and supports staff across all areas of the College site to help deliver the best activities and events for students and the wider Queen’s community alike.  A willingness to be helpful and go the extra mile to get things done is a must!

The ideal candidate must have the ability to:

  • work independently whilst using initiative
  • prioritise their workload on a daily basis to ensure all tasks are completed on time
  • communicate effectively verbally and by sending and receiving emails
  • carry and lift furniture and equipment in preparation for events, room changes or refurbishment
  • undertake basic maintenance tasks
  • distribute internal mail and parcels plus temporary event signage 
  • collect and deliver materials from suppliers off site for other team members
  • assist with the unloading of large deliveries
  • assist colleagues in heavy cleaning duties such as floor scrubbing/polishing and pulling out furniture
  • deal with accidental spillages
  • carry out security checks on the late shift to ensure the perimeter and all buildings are secure

This role requires a valid UK Driving Licence.

There is a two-week shift arrangement in place during term time providing site coverage from 7am-10pm.

During holiday periods, this role will revert to a more traditional daytime work pattern which will be discussed in advance.
