Inside Evo Agency and Strabag: Sixth Formers’ Week of Industry Immersion

This week the Sixth Formers had two fantastic employer encounters that showcased how classroom learning translates into real-world employment. The Marketing and Business students visited Evo Agency where they learned about key aspects of the e-commerce world, including brand strategy, web development, targeted marketing, and user experience design.

Evo’s Head of Paid Search provided an engaging overview of current industry trends and terminology, highlighting the fast-paced nature of the digital marketing landscape. Students learned about the growing influence of AI and the importance of continuous learning and professional development to keep pace with evolving audience behaviours. The visit offered a fantastic opportunity to connect with a local employer and gain first-hand experience of a dynamic workplace environment.

The Sixth Formers were also delighted to welcome Queen’s parent Ed Bunn, Commercial Director for Strabag, to the Sixth Form assembly to discuss his career pathway and opportunities within the construction and engineering sector. Ed gave an insightful overview of the diverse career routes available within engineering, from site management and quantity surveying to civil, structural, and environmental engineering roles. He discussed current projects, the application of cutting-edge technology in construction, and the range of apprenticeships and graduate pathways available to students.
