Health and Wellbeing Day encouraged pupils to explore healthy lifestyles through a range of
engaging activities. They baked delicious muffins with Mr Mann in the Leiths Kitchen,
practised yoga, explored mindfulness techniques and enjoyed spending quality time together.

Smartest Giant Day – brought Julia Donaldson’s much-loved story to life through a variety of
imaginative activities. Pupils searched the school grounds for pieces of the Giant’s clothing in
a treasure hunt, painted their own giant portraits, created stick puppets to retell the story and
made colourful crowns.

Outdoor Education Day saw pupils making the most of the beautiful surroundings in Trull Park.
They enjoyed a nature walk, played parachute games, spotted birds and insects along the way,
and completed a scavenger hunt leading to the waterfall.

A visit to Fyne Court gave pupils the opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural world.
They followed the riverside trail while identifying different tree species, listening to birdsong
and completing challenges using Nature Explorer backpacks. The adventure continued with
den building in the woodland, balancing across the trunk bridge and bug hunting through leaf
litter and tree habitats to discover the fascinating creatures that call Fyne Court home.

Pupils also took on the exciting challenge of learning and performing the story of Goldilocks in
just one day. Through drama, music and movement, they built confidence, worked
collaboratively and showcased their creativity in a fantastic performance.

The week concluded with a visit to Wookey Hole. Pupils explored the famous
caves, discovered how underground rock formations are created and learned about the
history and legends of one of Somerset’s most iconic attractions, making it a memorable end
to a week of learning beyond the classroom.

Years 3 & 4

Year 3 and 4 pupils enjoyed a packed programme of activities that combined creativity, sport,
teamwork and adventure. A day trip to Bristol gave pupils the opportunity to explore a new city
together, strengthening friendships while developing their communication and teamwork
skills.

Back at school, pupils became chefs and restaurateurs for the day, designing their own pizza
menus, decorating takeaway boxes and making delicious pizzas from scratch before serving
them in the restaurant. They also enjoyed energetic dance sessions that had everyone moving,
smiling and having fun together.

Professional circus performers visited Queen’s to teach pupils a range of exciting new skills,
including juggling and hula hooping. The workshops challenged pupils to develop their
balance, coordination and perseverance while trying something completely different.

Sport also featured prominently during the week, with pupils travelling to Vivary Park to compete in a rounder’s tournament. They demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day while enjoying some friendly competition in the sunshine.

The week ended with an unforgettable overnight camp at Huish. Pupils embraced the
outdoors through field games, woodland exploration and gathering around the campfire
before spending the night under canvas. After waking to freshly cooked bacon sandwiches,
they returned home with wonderful memories, increased confidence and even stronger
friendships.
