Reception Wildside Experience Trip

Reception Wildside Experience Trip

Posted: 20th March 2024

Reception Class enjoyed a beautiful spring morning at Wildside Experience, which is nestled in a secluded valley within the Blackdown Hills. On arrival, the pupils were greeted by Richard and his team who had prepared a superb fire and hot chocolate for them. Following this, Reception looked at the signs of spring that they could find in our local area and handled a range of bird and mammal nests. During this time, the students loved hearing the array of birdsong and discussed their calls. After meeting the Shetland ponies, the pupils had a wonderful welly walk through the forest spotting a range of habitats including, a fox’s den and a badger’s set.  The visit was finished by meeting the resident herd of sheep, many of which were pregnant ewes! We had an excellent visit and learned a lot!
