Cotlake House
The Cotlake boarders have adjusted smoothly to the new term. Anticipating better weather, the school has planned more outdoor weekend trips. The pupils have already enjoyed outings to the Bristol Zoo Project and the Grand Pier in Weston-Super-Mare. Upcoming adventures include water-themed activities at Splashdown Waterpark, North Devon Wake Park, and The Wave, an inland surf lake.
The Cotlake boarders continue to embody the school’s values and demonstrate a supportive and caring community. Harry was recognised this week with a Values Star for his kindness and integrity. He offered to help Miss Wessels clean up gym equipment, even sacrificing his personal tech time. Well done, Harry!
Cotlake has been placed to welcome several day pupils who have opted for flexi-boarding, both during the week and on weekends. This allows pupils to complete their homework at school and participate in weekend trips, creating a win-win situation for both parents and pupils.
School House
On Sunday 28th April the School House boys had the opportunity to surf at one of the country’s most beautiful beaches: Puttsborough in North Devon. They were blessed with beautiful clear blue skies and a tranquil beach. Unfortunately, the high pressure meant the waves were small, but the sea was warm(ish) and for the beginners, the conditions were good for getting up on the board. Thank you to the Barefoot Surf School who did an excellent job supporting the boys to have a wonderful afternoon. They be back again in September but for now, they look forward to coasteering at Croyde Bay (just around the corner), in a few weeks.
Hutton House
The girls in Hutton House had a weekend of ice cream and fun last weekend. On Saturday they enjoyed ice cream sundaes in Hutton kitchen, then on Sunday the younger boarders enjoyed some ice cream on the beach and they even got a glimpse of the sun in Lyme Regis.
Highgrove House
On Saturday evening the sixth form boarders got together to complete an escape room. The teams had to complete a series of tasks in order to free Mr Noad from imprisonment! Food and drink helped to sustain them all through the event but the Year 12 girl’s team came out victorious, closely followed by a group of year 13 pupils from Highgrove and School House.
