Prep School
On Wednesday, the Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed a warm and sunny September day for their first matches of the season.
The U10 girls, along with the U11C team, had some enjoyable matches away at Wellington, focusing on developing their skills. There were plenty of smiles, and the girls returned with great stories of a positive start to the term.
The U11A and B teams participated in a triangular fixture with Wellington and King’s College Prep. Despite the heat, the girls showed tenacity and created several opportunities, with the A team scoring two goals and the B team adding one. The A team, in particular, had a tough afternoon, playing two consecutive matches in the heat, but their performances were commendable.
Meanwhile, the U10 boys hosted Blundell’s, while the U11 teams traveled for their first away fixtures. The U10 boys showed great spirit, with supportive teamwork and clear skill development, especially as some players transitioned into contact rugby. It was fantastic to see new players getting involved with enthusiasm.
The U11 boys faced strong opposition at Blundell’s. The A team worked hard to apply their coaching points, showing encouraging progress. The B team also displayed hard work, with quick passing and footwork leading to some excellent tries.

This week saw impressive performances from Queen’s teams, with plenty of effort and continued improvement on display.
The 1st XI played a tightly contested match against Leweston, scoring twice on breakaways but narrowly missing an equaliser, as Leweston secured the win in the final quarter. The U15A team showed resilience, battling back in the second half with a goal from Mary-Tess, though Leweston ultimately pulled ahead.
The U14A team delivered an outstanding performance, putting their training into action and securing multiple goals. Teniore was named Player of the Match for her tireless energy and a brilliant goal.
The U13A team performed well in their tournament, with a highlight victory against Plymouth College and a hard-fought draw with Blundell’s. The U13B team demonstrated positive teamwork in a challenging opening match, while the U13C team’s attacking play improved throughout their game, scoring once and defending fiercely. Erin was named Player of the Match for her exceptional goalkeeping.
