Led by Mrs Caroline Foster, Head of Cricket at Queen’s College and former England international, the school’s cricket programme continues to build a strong reputation in Taunton and across the South West. The success of these pupils reflects both their commitment and the quality of the coaching they receive.

Mrs Foster said:
“We are incredibly proud of every pupil who has been recognised by Somerset County Cricket Club this year. Their effort, enthusiasm, and teamwork are a credit to the school. At Queen’s, we believe cricket should be both competitive and enjoyable. While success at county level is fantastic, our aim is to ensure that every pupil can experience the joy of the game, whether they are playing for fun, learning new skills, or competing at a higher level.”
This philosophy helps make Queen’s College Taunton one of the leading schools for cricket in Somerset. Pupils benefit from access to an exceptional team of cricket coaches, including Mrs Caroline Foster, a former England cricketer; Arul Suppiah, a former professional with Somerset; and Andrew Venning, a respected Somerset Pathway Coach.
The school’s cricket facilities are outstanding, featuring an indoor training hall with four nets, five net outdoor specialist cricket areas, and a traditional cricket pavilion overlooking the main pitch, with five additional pitches on site. Together, these facilities and coaches create an inspiring, inclusive environment where every pupil can develop skill, confidence, and a lifelong love for cricket.
Cricket at Queen’s College is an important part of the school’s calendar all year round. Pupils benefit from a structured coaching programme that supports beginners while challenging advanced players to progress into club and county cricket.
Holiday masterclasses, performance sessions, and one-to-one coaching provide opportunities for players to grow in confidence and improve their game. Located in the heart of Taunton, the home of Somerset County Cricket Club, Queen’s College continues to inspire the next generation of players to pursue cricket with pride and enjoyment.
