The Queen’s College U13B hockey team delivered a strong performance in their recent matches against Leweston School and Perrott Hill School, showcasing teamwork, skill, and determination throughout both encounters.

Despite creating multiple chances in attack, they were unlucky not to find the back of the net. In their second fixture against Perrott Hill, Queen’s looked sharper in attack, making the most of their chances with quick passing and clinical finishing. The midfield worked tirelessly to link play between defence and attack, while the backline remained disciplined under pressure. Their improved attacking efficiency paid off, resulting in a well-earned and confident performance.

U12A
Queen’s College U12A hosted Perrott Hill on Wednesday afternoon in a thrilling and closely contested match.
The visitors started strongly, displaying excellent teamwork and quick passing that put Queen’s under early pressure. Their attacking intent paid off as they found the net early, taking an early lead. Despite the setback, Queen’s responded well, growing into the game and gaining control of the midfield. Their composed passing and movement began to create opportunities, forcing the Perrott Hill defence to work hard.
As the match progressed, Queen’s continued to push forward in search of an equaliser. Their persistence was rewarded in the final moments of the game with a beautifully worked move through midfield. A precise pass split the Perrott Hill defence, allowing Queen’s to calmly slot the ball past the goalkeeper, securing a dramatic last-minute equaliser.

U11A
Despite cold and wet conditions, the Queen’s College U11 hockey teams showed great enthusiasm and determination in their fixtures against Perrott Hill and Leweston.
The U11A boys started strongly against Perrott Hill, playing some excellent hockey and scoring three well-worked goals. Their attacking play was sharp, and they moved the ball well to create opportunities. However, in their second game against Leweston, tiredness began to show, and the team had to rely on George in goal, who made some crucial saves to keep them in the match. One key takeaway from the game was the importance of using the width of the pitch to find space and stretch the opposition.
Netball
Despite challenging weather conditions, two of our U11 teams took to the court on Wednesday, embracing the opportunity for competitive play.
The U11B team demonstrated excellent teamwork, moving the ball swiftly down the court. After a few early attempts, they found their rhythm in front of the net and began scoring consistently. With each sixth played, their lead grew, culminating in a well-earned victory.
The U11A team also put in a strong performance, showcasing dynamic play and solid defensive work, leading to key turnovers. Their shooting was effective, and the team worked well together as a cohesive unit.
