Queen’s College Taunton is strengthening its cricket provision through a new partnership with HiTZ Cricket, bringing a next generation indoor cricket training facility to the school site in early 2027.

The new HiTZ cricket facility provides access to advanced, data driven batting experiences powered by BatFast technology. Designed to replicate real match conditions, the system provides instant feedback and personalised insights through ball-tracking technology, helping players understand their game and improve with every session.

This development places cricket at Queen’s at the forefront of school sport, introducing a level of technology and training that is rarely found in an educational setting.

The HiTZ cricket nets will be based on site at Queen’s College and available to both pupils and the wider community. The fully contactless system allows users to book sessions online and access the facility independently, creating a flexible and modern cricket training environment.

Investing in cricket facilities at Queen’s College

Kim Dawkins, Bursar at Queen’s College Taunton, said:

“Investment in facilities is about creating an environment where pupils can experience something exceptional every day. The introduction of this cricket facility is a significant step forward and reflects our continued focus on providing opportunities that genuinely enhance school life and build on our connections with our local community.

Alongside the development of our new padel courts, this is another exciting addition to the College. We are always looking at how we can evolve our facilities to support both current pupils; future families considering Queen’s and our local community.”

Developing cricket at every level

Tom Bell, Director of Sport at Queen’s College Taunton, added:

“This is a really exciting development for cricket at Queen’s. The ability for pupils to train using this kind of technology, with instant feedback and a deeper understanding of their performance, will make a real difference to how they develop”

Cricket at Queen’s College continues to evolve

The addition of HiTZ Cricket reflects Queen’s College’s ongoing commitment to developing cricket through a combination of expert coaching, strong partnerships and forward thinking facilities.

By continuing to invest in cricket in this way, the College is creating an environment where pupils can experience the game at a level that goes beyond what is typically available in schools.
