Students in our Prep School Eco Club have won the regional round of the Rotary Young Environmentalist Competition 2023 and have been entered for the National Final!
In small groups, made up of year 5 and 6 students, the teams created Google Documents to showcase their years of work promoting biodiversity and supporting their local environment, supported by a variety of enthusiastic staff, notably Mr Mann and his team, Mrs Wade and the Eco Club. The winning team consists of Bradley, Edward, and Maurice, who have been enthusiastic supporters of the Eco team since their arrival in Prep school.
The team was recognised by our Eco Governor, Mrs Janet Walden and three members of Taunton Rotary Club, led by our previous Headteacher, Mrs Khodabandehloo, who were impressed with their entries and presented each entrant with a T-shirt, book, and special certificate. The children were overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the Taunton Rotarians, who also presented Queen’s Prep School Eco Club with a cheque to further our environmental endeavours.
We would all like to thank Taunton Rotary for their support, enthusiasm and generosity and we look forward to seeing the team’s continued efforts to promote biodiversity and support their local environment in the National Final!
