Super Saturday March 2024

Posted: 26th March 2024

Despite the unpredictable weather, which posed its challenges, the spirit of the day remained undamped, thanks to the unwavering support of the community and the resilience of the house student athletes.

The hockey and netball matches were nothing short of spectacular, with each house displaying skill, determination but most importantly the value of sportsmanship. From nail-biting moments of suspense, teams rallying around for goal keepers who were enticed by the ice cream van or a final send off for our Year 13 students looking to add additional flair to their game as their conclude Hockey at Queen’s, the day was filled with memorable highlights that will be cherished for years to come.

But Super Saturday was more than just a showcase of athletic prowess; it was a celebration of community spirit and togetherness. The sidelines were lined with enthusiastic supporters, braving the weather to cheer on their friends, classmates, and loved ones. Whether it was parents proudly cheering on or fellow students chanting encouraging cheers, the sense of festival feel was evident throughout the day and for that we are most grateful.

As the final whistle blew and the last match concluded, there was a collective feeling of satisfaction and pride. Despite the challenges faced, Super Saturday had exceeded expectations, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a renewed sense of school spirit. And as participants and spectators alike dispersed, there were heartfelt expressions of gratitude for braving the weather and coming together to make the day a resounding success.

In the end, Super Saturday was not just about sports; it was about coming together as a community, supporting one another, a bond beyond final scores. It was a day filled with laughter, cheers, and shared experiences—a day that truly embodied the essence of school spirit and the real meaning of school sport.
