Leiths School of Food and Wine, founded by Prue Leith (a renowned chef and food writer) in 1975, is an industry-esteemed professional cookery school offering diplomas and certified courses. Leiths’ alumni comprise some of the most talented chefs, recipe developers, food stylists and entrepreneurs of the food world. Leiths is renowned for its rigorous curriculum that equips students with not just qualifications but with the mastery and confidence to excel in a wide range of careers as well as a lifetime love of cooking good food. Located in West London, Leiths offers a wide range of courses for aspiring chefs, home cooks, and culinary professionals.
From September 2024, Queen’s College Sixth Form pupils will have an exciting opportunity to pursue the Level 3 Extended Certificate in Professional Cookery, accredited by the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH), recognised by Oxford and Cambridge Universities and by Royal College of Surgeons for UCAS points awarded. This hands-on programme perfectly embodies the Queen’s College motto, “We learn not for school but for life.” It is a five-term course centred around practical menus, designed to equip students with a broad range of culinary and transferable skills that will last a lifetime.
This course goes beyond just a certificate. It empowers students to cook with confidence long after they leave Queen’s. Graduates can leverage the “Leiths List,” the Leiths’ dedicated employment agency, to secure short-term or long-term work placements; an invaluable opportunity for students to gain valuable industry experience during summer holidays and university breaks.
